thank you Stephen for your valuable thoughts. Isms come and go, this is good about them. Ism is something constrained and blinded. But also, isms are how our world is organised — so it seems sensible to take them into account (critically or not).

My point is not to defend isms but to compare them to the same critera: are they dialectical (not only negation of the old but negation of negation — as a prerequsite to emergence of radical novelty).
